New Delhi: Adding another feather to his cap, London-based tech entrepreneur Arun Kar has bagged the ‘Global Indian of the Year Award 2020-21’ instituted by an international magazine – Asia One and United Research Services (URS).
The award was given to Arun Kar for his contribution in setting up the London-based multi-national digital innovation company ‘Xpertnest’.
When the World Health Organization (WHO) issued guidelines for social distancing in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Arun Kar’s ExpertNest developed a national app, the Beach Check UK app, with the UK government. The app helps beach-goers build core social distancing by showing real-time information on beaches.
In addition, Arun Kar’s company is working with UK law enforcement agencies to develop innovative technology solutions to combat crime.
Reportedly, the car’s Nest Group of Companies, which is owned by Xpertnest, has a workforce of over 100 people in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and India.
Kar is a military veteran and had served the Indian Army for seven years.
Along with Chintan Panara and Pradeep Butani, Arun founded the Nest Group of Companies, which has five subsidiaries.
Kar’s company also won Dotcom magazine’s Most Influential Company of the Year 2021 award, the 2019 Company of the Year award for Smart City Solutions in the CIO Review, and a finalist in the UK’s National SME Awards 2020 – Business Innovation category.
He was awarded the Young Entrepreneur Award in London in 2019 for his contribution to the Odia society.
