New Delhi, 16th September 2024 – Kala Srishti, India’s largest immersive artisan hub, has launched the “Celebrate with Purpose” campaign ahead of the festive season, encouraging people to choose culturally meaningful gifts that support Indian craftsmanship. This initiative highlights the importance of selecting handcrafted items that not only showcase the beauty of Indian artistry but also uplift artisan communities and preserve the country’s rich heritage.

India’s handicraft sector plays a crucial role in supporting marginalized communities, with 3.8 million female artisans contributing to its vibrant economy. Through the “Celebrate with Purpose” campaign, consumers are invited to make gifting choices that reflect the dedication and artistry of these creators. Every item tells a story of tradition, sustainability, and cultural pride, turning festive gifts into meaningful celebrations.

The campaign highlights artisans like Tarun Kumar Singh, a fourth-generation artisan from Varanasi known for his exceptional Gulabi Meenakari work. His creations, including silver Kundan jewelry and intricate Jhumkas, have earned both national and international recognition. Tarun also trains 15 women artisans, ensuring the continuation of this traditional craft.

Similarly, Sandeep Vishwakarma, who left a corporate career to return to his family’s artisanal roots in Varanasi, blends traditional techniques with modern design in his wooden idols and showpieces. His commitment to preserving India’s cultural heritage has helped bring this artistry to a global audience.
