Dr Vinod Verma, Sr. Vice President of the Aditya Birla Group -Corporate Affairs has been bestowed with the Aditya Birla Group (ABG) Chairman’s Individual Award in the category of “Exceptional Contributor”. The award has been conferred on 16th December 2022 by the Group Chairman, Kumar Mangalam Birla during the Aditya Birla Award Ceremony held at Jaipur.
Started in 1996, the Aditya Birla Awards have been amongst the Group’s most cherished traditions and considered as “Oscar of ABG”. The Chairman’s Individual Award (CIA) was constituted as a platform to start a Group-wide recognition program, one that applauds and celebrates the pursuit of individual excellence across the diverse businesses of ABG.
“The Exceptional Contributor for Functional Excellence” award is given to the Senior Executives who display remarkable mastery of functional skills, and knowledge and bring fabulous contributions to the Function to support the Businesses.
Dr. Verma has used his skills and knowledge to build a unique system/initiative that was considered a benchmark across industries for functional excellence. He has used cutting-edge tools and techniques in the functional area to improve a functional process/to institute a functional system that was considered unique and innovative by the businesses as well. He is acknowledged as an expert and go-to person for functional inputs, ideas and solutions. His unique ability enabled him to get this prestigious Award from the Group Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group.
Dr. Verma has been working with the Aditya Birla Group for more than 15 years. His current assignment is as Sr Vice President – of Group Corporate Affairs (Mining & Metals of Aditya Birla Group) & Head- of Regulatory Affairs-Hindalco. His scope of responsibility includes verticals such as Aluminium, Copper, Bauxite, Coal, Power, Mining of the Group etc., to name a few. Accordingly, he is also coordinating for States like Odisha, Punjab, Haryana Chandigarh (UT), Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Leh -Ladakh etc. Action-oriented and a performance-driven leader, Dr. Verma’s approach to work is strategic, systematic & customer-centric.
He is currently working with a dynamic leader Mr. Sunil Bajaj, Group Executive President – of Corporate Affairs, Aditya Birla Group.

He is a multi-faceted personality with wide-ranging responsibilities cutting across multiple sectors. He has established a consistent track record of thought leadership & success through his sheer grit & determination.
He took the mantle of Corporate Affairs 22 years ago and has since then made cutting-edge contributions with respect to Policy Advocacy he is acknowledged as an expert on public relations with Bureaucracy, Polity, Central & State Govt., Diplomatic Community, & various Trade Bodies and handles Greenfield & Brownfield Projects, Policy Advocacy and has tremendous exposure in various Ministries such as Mines, Coal, Commerce, Environment, Power, MNRE, Finance etc. In addition, he is an expert in Human Resource Management, Govt. Affairs, Strategic Planning, Industrial Relations and Corporate/Regulatory Affairs.
