The avid Bengali poet Anirban Chottopadhyay has been awarded the Poet of the Year Award for his poetry book “Prem Barud Shobdo” during the Kolkata chapter of Sueños organized by Ukiyoto publishing house.

Prem Barud Shobdo, a collection of poetry by Anirban, has a strong social concern. It is a fusion of three different genres. Recently, critics have begun to embrace the Barud literary subgenre, where political expressions are written. In addition to proving his love for his lover and exposing the harsh reality of the city, the holy state, and the crusades, he says that the book is a testament to society’s decline.
