Patna, February 15, 2025: Bihar is set to witness a new milestone in its development. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has approved the construction of a new airport in Bihta. This airport will be built by AAI at a cost of ₹459 crore. A Russian company has been awarded the contract for this project, aiming to enhance air transport facilities in Bihar.

The Bihar government has allocated 108 acres of land for this purpose, where the airport will be constructed. This airport will not only be connected to Patna city but will also serve as a new air traffic hub for the entire state and neighboring regions. The Bihta airport will boost air connectivity to various major cities, accelerating the state’s development.

Additionally, the state government has announced an ambitious plan to make access from Patna to Bihta airport more convenient. By 2026, the longest elevated road will be completed, currently under construction from Danapur to Bihta at a cost of ₹2,000 crore. Upon completion, travel between Patna and Bihta will become much easier and faster. This will not only facilitate passenger traffic but also accelerate economic development in both areas.

This project is considered highly significant for the state’s development, as it will improve air traffic in Bihar and enhance connectivity between various parts of the state. With the help of this airport and elevated road, business and tourism activities in Bihta and surrounding areas will also receive a boost.
