The brain behind Bharatiyam’s flagship programs Urban Forests and Ragas for Yamuna is none other but Anil Gupta.
Urban Forests are unique in character as the name suggests, they are dense foresting unlike parks. They are being creating with the dual purpose of providing homes to birds and oxygen to humans which is ever depleting. An idea liked by all and inspiring many.
Bharatiyam has created Urban Forests at Narela, Dwarka & PGDAV College (Evening), Delhi and GHS, Samlehri, Panchkula. Inspired by it’s success many more organizations are approching Bharatiyam to develop Urban Forests Mini, Medium as well as Big in their vicinity.
Ragas for Yamuna was launched with the dual purpose of promoting River Yamuna and Indian classical & folk music. The 1st Edition was held on newly renovated spectacular yamuna flood plains by DDA in Delhi. People were mesmerised seeing the ambience as well as seing jugal bandhi of Pandit Siddhartha Banerjee (inventor of Siddha Veena) & Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, Shehnai Exponent.
Bharatiyam then organized ‘Ragas for Yamuna’ Covid Care concert on June 27, 2021 which was an online concert alongwith auction. About 4000 people enjoyed performances of Pandit Bholanath Misra(on Tabla) , Dr. Radhika Chopra (vocal) and Pandit Deepak Chhersagar (on Mohan Veena).
Anil came up with an out of Box idea and requested people to donate a precious thing for the cause besides buying a ticket. The idea clicked as Covid-19 changed perception of life in general and People donated precious things like diamond ring, gold pendants, branded watches, pens & clothes, kalpa vriksha, antique etc. etc.for the cause.
A total of Rs. 1 crore was raised through the Concert and the Auction.
Rs. 20 Lakh had already been delivered by Bharatiyam as financial support to few Covid affected children after due diligence.
Anil as usual came up with yet another unique idea. The first of its kind program named “Vatsalya” which will be a series of workshops for these children.
Vatsalya’s vision is to ensure that children associated with it accomplishes their dreams and get emotional support from Bharatiyam.
The Vatsalya’s opening chapter was held on children’s day 2021 in association with PGDAV College (Evening).
On being asked about the upcoming project, Anil replied be ready for Ragas for Yamuna in an all together new version and that Delhites will look upto Ragas for Yamuna’s upcoming editions.
