Ahmedabad: The TPF Sankalp Cyclothon, organised by Terapanth Professional Forum, witnessed an overwhelming response with more than 1,000 members of the Jain Terapanth Samaj taking part in the event on Sunday morning.
The Terapanth Professional Forum (TPF), which comprises highly qualified professionals and entrepreneurs belonging to the Jain Terapanth Samaj, had organised the Cyclothon to create awareness about education and fitness. The Cyclothon was open to all persons above the age of 15 belonging to the Jain Terapanth community.
The participants warmed up for the event with Zumba exercises. The Cyclothon was flagged off by TPF National President Pankaj Ostwal, National General Secretary Vimal Shah, Trustees Raichand Lunia , TPF Ahmedabad President Rakesh Gugaliya, and TPF Ahmedabad Secretary Abhishek Malu.
“We were expecting around 500 people to participate in the Cyclothon. However, the number of participants was more than 1,000 due to the enthusiastic response from Jain Terapanth Samaj members to the event and supporting our initiatives for education and health. We are thankful to everyone for their participation and look forward to having a much bigger event the next time. We also thank the police and other authorities for their support and ensuring the Cyclothon went off smoothly,” said Mr. Rakesh Gugaliya, President of TPF, Ahmedabad.
The Cyclothon commenced from Sabarmati Riverfront and culminated at the same place after covering a distance of 7 km via Dafnala, Chewer Complex, Rajasthan Hospital, Terapanth Bhavan, Oswal Bhavan, and Madhuram Tower. The winners were presented medals and prizes while all the participants were given attractive gifts.
Mr. Rakesh Gugaliya also informed the community gathering about Acharya Shri Mahashraman ji’s 21-day holy visit to Ahmedabad in March. He appealed to more community members to join the Terapanth Professional Forum. The Forum presently has 325 members in Ahmedabad and it is eying at least 501 members before the March event.
“This will be the first time the Terapanth Professional Forum will get the benefit of Acharya Shri’s darshan in Ahmedabad. When he last visited here 21 years ago, the Forum did not exist. I wish more members join us and get the opportunity to serve Acharya Shri,” he said.
The Cyclothon was supported by Shree Jain Shwetambar Terapanthi Sabha, Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Terapanth Mahila Mandal, and Anuvrat Samiti.
